Severe Weather Possible Tomorrow Through Early Thursday From Central AL South
December 13, 2022
The Storm Prediction Center is forecasting severe weather from central Alabama south to the coast for tomorrow through early Thursday. Although the potential for severe storms is greater with this system, as with the last event the worst weather will be to our west but some severe potential will remain as the weather system moves east. Timing is shown for each local area below. Note that there is a significant tornado threat (shown by the black hatching) for southwest Alabama and the western Florida Panhandle, which indicates the potential for tornadoes of EF2 strength or stronger.
Wednesday Morning Through Thursday Morning
Thursday Morning Through Friday Morning
Mobile-Pensacola Area

Emerald Coast to Panama City and Parts East
If you're curious, here is how the last severe weather event played out. The Day 1 forecast verified well except it seemed there were more severe reports to the south and east of the main risk area. For Day 2 there were more severe reports than initially forecast, the original forecast only had a marginal risk (dark green) and not slight (yellow) as shown (which was added the morning of the 30th).

Stay safe tomorrow and overnight. Make sure you have multiple ways of receiving alerts and stay tuned to local media outlets for updates.
After the front passes it looks like we'll be in for some cooler weather, 6-10 day and 8-14 day temp outlooks are below. Our next significant chance for rain will be around the start of next week. There are some early hints that winter weather may make its way quite a bit south next week, it's too far out to know for sure yet.

Have a good rest of the week.
