Severe Weather Possible Tomorrow and Thursday Mostly Near the Coast

April 11, 2023

I almost didn't post about this because the probability is pretty low, but there is a chance of severe weather tomorrow along the coast and then along the coast and a bit more inland again on Thursday. A low pressure system is currently forming in the northern Gulf off of Louisiana and there may be a few severe storms associated with it as it moves to the northeast over the next two days. The current forecast risk for tomorrow is Marginal along the immediate coastal areas with a 2% chance of a tornado and 5% chance of damaging winds. We will not have details for the risk on Thursday until tomorrow but it's looking like the risk will be about the same but extending well inland into southeast Alabama. The main impact is likely to be from rain with some coastal areas maybe seeing as much as 3 inches.

Day 2 Outlook (7 a.m. tomorrow - 7 a.m. Thursday)

Day 3 Outlook (7 a.m. Thursday - 7 a.m. Friday)

Estimated rainfall through Friday morning

Overall I don't expect this to be a high impact event but I wanted to make you aware that a few severe storms are possible. It looks like the rain will taper off late Thursday into Friday only to see it return on Saturday.

Stay safe.

Chris
