Marginal Risk of Severe Weather Today in Parts of Alabama and Tomorrow In the Mobile-Pensacola Area

February 11, 2025

Environmental conditions across central and southwest Alabama look to be just favorable enough for a few strong storms today. Due to this the Storm Prediction Center is indicating a Marginal risk (level 1 out of 5) of severe weather for Mobile through Birmingham:

Day 1 Outlook (valid until 6 a.m. Wednesday)

  • Potential for a few severe storms this afternoon and evening
  • Marginal risk
    • 5% chance of damaging winds
    • 2% chance of a brief, isolated tornado

Day 2 Outlook (valid 6 a.m. Wednesday - 6 a.m. Thursday)

  • Severe weather threat begins late morning near the coast, with another threat later in the evening and overnight (more to come)
  • Marginal risk (near the coast only)
    • 5% chance of damaging winds
    • 2% chance of tornadoes
  • More details provided tomorrow for the threat later Wednesday and overnight into Thursday

I don't expect much of an impact today but I did want to let you know there was a chance for a few strong storms.

Have a good day.

Chris
